- anuj kumar:- [ 1/13/2007 ] The fax machine consist a optical scanner, a modem, a printer. When you put a document in fax macine to send it by fax then the document is go to scan by the optical scanner and this scanner make an copy of that document and it is send to a modem which converts the signals and send to the receiver.The receiver's fax machine get the signals by the sender's modem fixed in the fax machine and these signals are trupted by the receiver's modem fax machine and these signals encoded by the machine and signals send to the printer.
